This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Bagout (“we”, “us”, “the site”) collects when you visit getbagout.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect, and why
a) Comments
If you leave a comment on an article, we collect the name, email address, and website URL (if provided) that you enter in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser user agent string, which WordPress stores automatically to help detect spam.
If you have a Gravatar account linked to the email you comment with, your comment may display the profile picture registered with the Gravatar service (operated by Automattic). To check this, your email address is sent to Gravatar’s servers to see if you have an account there. Gravatar’s own privacy policy applies to that exchange.
Comments and their associated data are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until we remove them ourselves (e.g., spam clean-up).
Legal basis: your consent, given by voluntarily submitting the comment form.
b) Server and access logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider automatically logs technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page, and timestamp. This is standard web-server behaviour, used only for security, troubleshooting, and keeping the site running reliably. These logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period (typically no more than 12 months) and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning correctly.
c) Fonts loaded from Google
To display the site’s typography (Fraunces and Inter), pages load font files directly from Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Requesting these files sends your IP address to Google, as with any request to an external server. We do not use these font requests for tracking or advertising, but the transfer of your IP address to Google (a company based in the US) is a form of data processing you should be aware of. Google’s own privacy policy governs how they handle that request.
d) Newsletter sign-up form
The homepage currently shows a newsletter sign-up form. At present this form is not connected to any mailing system — submitting it does not send your email address anywhere or store it. If we activate real newsletter functionality in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated first to describe the mailing provider used, the data collected, and how to unsubscribe.
e) What we do not currently do
We do not run analytics software (e.g. Google Analytics), advertising/marketing pixels (e.g. Meta Pixel), or any user account/registration system for visitors. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate data;
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Port your data to another provider, where technically feasible;
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali — www.gpdp.it).
To exercise any of these rights — for example, to ask us to delete a comment and its associated data — email us at the address in section 1. We will respond within one month.
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the way the site handles data changes (for example, if we add analytics, a newsletter provider, or advertising). The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
