Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones getbagout.com uses, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you’ve filled in a form before.

2. Cookies we currently use

We keep things simple: today Bagout only uses technical / necessary cookies — the minimum required for the site to work correctly. We do not currently use statistical (analytics) or marketing/profiling cookies.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
wordpress_test_cookieWordPress coreChecks whether your browser accepts cookiesSession
comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, comment_author_url_*WordPress coreSaves the name/email/website you enter on a comment form, so you don’t have to retype it next timeUp to 12 months
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*WordPress coreKeeps site administrators logged into wp-admin (not relevant to regular visitors)Session / until logout
LiteSpeed Cache cookies (e.g. a cache/guest-mode cookie)LiteSpeed Cache (hosting-level caching plugin)Serves cached pages faster and correctly to logged-in vs. anonymous visitorsSession / short-lived

These cookies are all classified as strictly necessary/technical: the site can’t function properly without them (or, in the case of the comment-convenience cookies, they exist purely to save you retyping your details — no consent banner is legally required for this category under the ePrivacy rules).

3. Third-party resources (not cookies, but worth disclosing)

Our pages load font files directly from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). This isn’t a cookie, but it does mean your browser contacts Google’s servers directly, which receive your IP address as part of that request. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

4. No statistical or marketing cookies — for now

Bagout does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, YouTube embeds, advertising networks, or any other cookie that tracks you across visits or sites. If that changes, we will:

  1. Update this Cookie Policy to list the new cookies, their purpose, and duration;
  2. Only set those cookies after you’ve given specific consent through a cookie banner, which will let you accept, reject, or customise your choices by category — not just click “Accept”.

5. How to control cookies yourself

Even for the technical cookies listed above, you can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge all have a “Cookies and site data” section in their privacy settings). Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies may affect basic functionality, such as remembering your details between comments.
